It was a colourful event and a day of great jubilations as the wife of the Governor, Deaconess Nkechi Ikpeazu, made history and further demonstrated her passion for empowering women as she visited Isuikwuato local government area, and commissioned over thirty market stalls she built for Ahaba Women at Orie Ahaba market as well as provided twenty indigent women selected from the twenty ABSIEC wards of the council with various empowerment items amidst pump and pageantry.
Speaking at Orie Ahaba market, ward 1, Ahaba Imenyi, Isuikwuato LGA, after Commissioning and handing over the market stalls to Ahaba Imenyi Welfare Association, Women wing, the Abia First Lady, Deaconess Nkechi Ikpeazu, said she was motivated to build the shops, and also provide the empowerment items ranging from; Grinding Machines to Food Vendors, for grinding cassava, tomatoes etc, Complete set of wares to Akara Vendors, for frying Akara, yam, plantains, potatoes,etc, and cash to indigent women and youths of the council, as a way of encouraging them to be self reliant and contributors to their family upkeep, urging them to put the empowerment items to optimal use for the good of their families in particular and the society at large, assuring that the exercise is a continuous exercise as their tenure of office lasts.
Addressing the joyous crowed, the elated vibrant Council Chairman, Chief Nnamdi Udueze, lauded the first Lady Deaconess Ikpeazu for making history since the inception of their administration by using her NGO, the Vicar Hope Foundation, in positively touching lives of the downtrodden, less privileged windows, children and youths of the state, describing her as the Mother Dorcas of our generation, and prayed God to continue sustaining her with good health and longer life to enable her continue her good works to humanity.
Chief Nnamdi Udueze at the event, commended the Governor of Abia State, for vigorously keeping to all his campaign promises of bettering the lots of Abians through the provision of basic social needs of Ndi Abia,which Isuikwuato LGA is a beneficiary, in human empowerment as two sons of Isuikwuato LGA, Hon Obinna Ekekwe and Hon Martin Okoji are presently members of Abia Exco, among, while in road construction, the Ogboro to Amibo road in Isuikwuato has been asphalted with quality drainage systems, which is the first of it’s kind in the history of the affected communities, the Nunya to Ogboro road, re-awarded to another firm and mobilized to site, as Oporoto road is also awarded to our illustrious son, Engr Emma Mbaka’s firm, asserting that Isuikwuato LGA is favoured by the Equity Governor of Abia State and will always stand for Ikpeazu and PDP any time any day as their token of appreciation to him.
The Council Boss who thanked the members of the PDP family and all Governor Ikpeazu Pro Groups for trooping out in their large numbers to welcome the Abia First Lady and her entourage to Isuikwuato LGA, however called on all adults of voting age who have not gotten their Permanent Voters Cards to utilize the INEC Continuous Voters Registration, currently going on in various wards, to enable them acquire the voting tool which they will use in returning Governor Ikpeazu back to power come 2019 in line with equity and fairness.
Also speaking, the Secretary to Isuikwuato LGA, Bro Chesto Chinwendu Kanu, the LGA PDP Chairman, Mr Chinedu Igboko, former TC Chairman of the council, Elder Barr Enyinnaya Nwosu, the Chairman of all PDP Ward Chairmen, Chief Andrew Okorie, the Coordinator, Isuikwuato Surveillance Squad, Mr Onyekachi Madukairo, and the State Coordinator, Hope For All Organization, Onwa Innocent, among others, extolled the wife of the Governor for putting smiles to the faces of Isuikwuato women through the provision of the shops and empowerment items, describing her as a great humanitarian with the mission of repositioning Abia Women, while they thanked the Council Chairman, Chief Nnamdi Udueze, for Mobilizing and providing logistics for all that graced the event.
In their votes of thanks, the AIWA President, Women Wing, Dr Mrs C.C Ogbonna, on behalf of Ahaba Imenyi Community, Mrs Veronica Ogbonna, from ward 15 on behalf of food Vendors, and Mrs Ezinwanne Nwokocha on behalf of Akara Vendors, all thanked Deaconess Nkechi Ikpeazu for being a role model and mother per excellence as demonstrated by all her act of charity to Isuikwuato women in particular and Abia Women at large, pledging their sustained support to her and the administration of her husband in the state and will repay them with their massive vote come 2019.
Highlights included distribution of various empowerment materials plus cash, special welcome song by Ahaba Imenyi Women, and dance by various Ikpeazu Pro groups.
