Abia State will again, play host to yet another major national event as the Meeting of the National Council on Agriculture will hold in Umuahia between 26th and 28th of March 2017.

In a release signed by the Honorable Commissioner for Agriculture and Natural Resources, Rt. Hon. Barrister Uzo Azubuike, this event is yet another eloquent affirmation of the strides of the Ikpeazu administration in the area of Agriculture where so much has been done in terms of investment in the last two years.
With two million seedlings of high grade Tenera Oil Palm already planted with a plan to increase the number to 7.5 million in the next two years, Abia is set to become the nation’s number one oil palm producing state.
This is in addition to the huge investments already made in rice production, cassava production and other staple foods.

Therefore, the right to host the National Council on Agriculture is indeed timely and will put Abia on the national map yet again, a few weeks after hosting the National Council on Health.

The event will have provision for the exhibition of different kinds of agricultural products and agro allied products too. Interested exhibitors are advised to contact the Ministry headquarters, Library Avenue, Umuahia for more details.
