Governor Okezie Ikpeazu has assured that his government will always put on the front burner, issues that affect health care delivery in the state.
The Governor made this remark today at the Executive Council Chambers of the Government House Umuahia when he received in audience, the new leadership of the Nigerian Medical Association, Abia State Chapter.
The doctors led by their State Chairman, Dr. Prince Onyemaechi thanked the Governor for his efforts in the health sector and asked for his intervention in several other areas affecting the health sector. They specifically commended the Governor for taking steps to revitalize the Psychiatric Hospital Mgboko which is the only Psychiatric Medical facility in the state.
The Governor promised to look into the requests made by the doctors and intervene as much as available finances can allow.
Deputy Chief of Staff to the Governor, Chief Ukpai Agwu, Honorable Commissioners for Health, Dr. John Ahukanna, Youth Development, Hagler Okorie, Special Advisers to the Governor on Health Matters, Dr. Ikechukwu Nwabeke and Chief Ezumezu were there.
