The Governor of Abia state Chief T.A. Orji has expressed shock and disbelief over the recent passing away of the former military vice President Augustus Aikhomu.
Chief Orji speaking through his adviser on electronic media Ugochukwu Emezue maintained that the nation will miss the late former Chief of General staff who he described as a great naval officer.
For Chief Orji, the late Edo born military vice president no doubt contributed immensely towards the building of this nation during and after retiring from the military.
According to him, Admiral Aikhomu, would be remembered for his achievements in the navy during his tenure as the Chief of naval staff especially in the area of maintaining high degree of professionalism in the force.
The governor said that no one can question God over the sad exit of Admiral Aikhomu “God gives and takes Life” He however maintained that everyone should take solace in that fact that he lived a fulfilled life while on earth.
The Governor while condoling the family of the deceased prayed God to grant the departed eternal rest.
