The state Governor, Chief T. A. Orji has challenged resident doctors to live up to their professional calling to justify the special salary scheme for doctors and nurses.

The state Governor, Chief T. A. Orji has challenged resident doctors to live up to their professional calling to justify the special salary scheme for doctors and nurses.

Chief T. A. Orji threw the challenge during the 2011 ordinary general meeting and scientific conference of Resident Doctors which took place in Umuahia.

The Governor represented by Permanent Secretary Ministry of Health, Mr. Emelike Onyekaba reiterated his commitment towards sustaining the provision of adequate health care services and facilities to all Abians.
In his address, the President of the National Association of Resident Doctors, Dr. Nnabue Chinomso said that the aim of the meeting is to see to the welfare and repositioning of the doctor to persuade government to timely address the critical areas of neglect in order to achieve better and motivated work performance.

He described the theme of the scientific conference, which was “MEDICO-LEGAL considerations in Doctor-Patient Care” as stating that every human being has the fundamental right to the highest health standard without any distinction based  race, religion, political belief, economic or social conditions.
